DIY Mirrored Cubicle

I posted a picture a few weeks ago of the mirrored cubicle that I had put together, and got a ton of comments asking for a tutorial. I saw a really beautiful [and expensive] mirrored cubicle at a store I was in over a year ago, and desperately needed it. [My parents also have a big Ikea cubicle that apparently they DIY'd and added mirrors to as well, and I had no idea until a few months ago! Ha!] When we moved up to Idaho, I still couldn't get it out of my mind, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. I bought 2 of these ClosetMaid Cube Organizers from Target [on sale] and 3 packs of these mirror tiles from Walmart. [The mirror tiles are 12" x 12" and fit perfectly!] Once we had put the cubicles together, I glued the mirror tiles to the back of the cubicle with some Gorilla Glue and gloves. [You don't want to get that stuff on your hands! Also, make sure to only put a thin layer of glue, because otherwise it will seep through to front and dry on the mirror. I didn't notice until the next morning, and had to scrape the glue off of the mirror and the inside of the cubes with a screwdriver. Ugh.] *Make sure you clamp or put something heavy on them for at least 2 hours. We stacked books on ours and left them overnight.

It really is so simple, but I honestly think that adding mirrors to the back of the cubicles makes them look so much nicer and makes the room feel bigger! I definitely recommend this quick and easy DIY project to anyone who wants to spruce up a room. [I plan on also adding mirrors to the back of my shoe shelf one of these days!] The whole project cost me around $100-- but if you are only doing one cubicle, it will only cost you around $50! :]

Like I said, it's a pretty straight forward project, but if you have any questions, please feel free to email me or comment below!

Thanks so much for reading, and have a great weekend!
xoxo,
