Dear LIB readers: My man says he'll only marry me if I agree to stop wearing weaves

From a female LIB reader
After eleven months together, my boyfriend told me recently that the only reason he hasn't proposed to me is because of my weaves, that he couldn't spend the rest of his life with a woman who wears wigs and weaves. He says he wants his wife to only carry her natural hair and nothing else, so this is a deal breaker for us. He says once I make him that promise he will propose to me and I can start making wedding plans.
I'm worried for two reasons; I love my weaves and I don't know if I can exist without them and 2, a man who is adamant on having his way and doesn't want to listen to reason or even compromise may be a huge problem later in the marriage. But I love him and want to marry him, I just don't know what to do about his ultimatum. Please help!

I don't think so....

Hi, Guys! I’ve been terribly busy recently, for I had to catch up with some matters. I hope I will be able to share the results of my work within the next few months.

During that time I was looking for a new leather jacket.  The reason was, the one by Benneton I had until now just started to fall into pieces.  I went for an overstitched shoulder jacket from a foreign boutique. Plus, high waisted holey jeans and black and white striped top. Fake nerd glasses and fuchsia lipstick top everything up.

How do you like that match?

Ini Edo's marriage packs up, removes husband's name from instagram

After five years together, actress Ini Edo's marriage to her US based husband Philip Ehiagwina has crashed. The couple who lived separately for most of their marriage decided to formally split in early August. There are reports that Ini's people have even returned the bride price Philip paid in 2008.

Ini has since removed her husband's name from her social media accounts and she also removed wife from her bio on instagram. Her bio used to read - actress and wife...but wife is no longer there. A source that I spoke with said they have been having problems for quite a while because of trust issues before they decided to finally end their marriage. They have no children together.

Watch & nominate your hero this independence: #Aplaceinthestars

One of the most highly anticipated feature films, “A Place in the Stars” has launched a social media campaign to commemorate Independence Day but more importantly to celebrate the many sung/ unsung heroes who in the face of adversity continue to channel the right path.

The film, directed by Steve Gukas, was inspired by the late Dora Akunyili (Former DG, NAFDAC) and is a riveting account of drug trafficking; it focuses on how fake and adulterated medical drugs are being traded for billions of dollars.
Over the next couple of weeks, celebrities and the film stars will tell us who they think has earned their place in the stars. Watch Nollywood veteran, Segun Arinze nominate above.
To be part of the campaign, simply follow these steps:

  1. Write ‘THE NAME’ of your choice followed by #aplaceinthestars
  2. Take a picture and upload on Twitter, Instagram and/or Facebook and remember to include @aplaceinthestars

WIN! WIN!
Be creative! The entries with the most unique nominations stand a chance of winning tickets to the Film’s Grand Premiere in Lagos on the 7th of November 2014.

Footballer Cheick Tiote admits he has 2 wives & a mistress- but wife No.1 fainted when she found out on FB

A married Premier League footballer who already has three children by his wife and mistress has just taken a second bride in his native Cote'Ivoire. (pictured with second wife, Doukrou Laeticia )

Cheick Tiote, 28, who earns £45,000 a week playing for Newcastle United, reportedly wed Laeticia Doukrou in a traditional ceremony earlier this month, saying taking another wife was 'nothing unusual' given he is a Muslim.

But news of the second wedding came as a surprise to his first wife, Madah, 25, who is said to have only found out about it on Facebook. Madah, who lives with Tiote and their two children in a £1.5m house in a village outside Newcastle, reportedly fainted with shock when she saw the photographs of her husband marrying another woman.

Meanwhile the midfielder also has a one-year-old child with mistress, 33-year-old Zimbabwean Nkosiphile Mpofu, known as Nikki.  (pictured above)

His agent today confirmed reports he had got married for a second time.
Jean Musampa said: 'I can say that he did get married and that it is his second marriage. This is nothing unusual. He is a Muslim.'

The footballer, who can have four wives under Islamic law, is also said to have insisted to friends that having several partners is commonplace in his native Ivory Coast.

A source told The Sun: 'He doesn't see a problem with having two wives. It's perfectly acceptable in his culture. He doesn't see he has done anything wrong and doesn't know what the fuss is all about.'

But his first wife, Madah, is said to have felt rather differently.

According to Ivorian news website iMatin, Madah wasn't aware of her husband taking a second wife, and found out about it through social media.

They reported that she fainted when she saw the photos of her husband marrying another woman - whose name she did not know - on Facebook.

The first Mrs Tiote (pictured above with the footballer) is now said to have forgiven her husband, but his 33-year-old Zimbabwean mistress, Ms Mpofu, is believed to have recently ended her three-year affair with the footballer after he allegedly promised to make her his wife.

While she was said to have been 'comfortable' with his being married, she apparently decided to call the relationship off because he 'used me like a mop'.
Ms Mpofu was pictured earlier this week leaving a Waitrose store in the village where Tiote lives with his family, with her son by the footballer, Rafael.

Newcastle United was not available for comment.
Tiote received interest from Lokomotiv Moscow during the summer and was thought to be keen on a move to Russia.

He remained on Tyneside after Lokomotiv failed to make an acceptable offer, but his contract is set to expire in 2016.

EFCC Arraigns 60 year old Man for N37.5m Scam

Find the EFCC Press statement below...
A 60-year-old man, Vincent Odionu was on Monday September 29, 2014, arraigned before Justice M.A. Onyetenu of the Federal High Court, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a 2-count charge that borders on stealing, forgery and impersonation
The accused person who is an agent to a brokerage firm, Lion Stockbrokers Limited, allegedly conspired with others to sell the shares of Onwubu Gibson Anake ( deceased) in several blue chip companies ( RT Briscoe, CFAO, Cement Company of Northern Nigeria, First Bank, Oando, Nigerian Breweries, etc) without authorisation. The total value of the shares sold by the accused is put at Thirty Seven Million, Five Hundred and Fifty Five Thousand Naira only.

Three Boko Haram members sentenced to 25 years each

The Federal High Court in Lagos today Tuesday September 30th sentenced 3 Boko Haram members to 25 years imprisonment each, The Nation reports.
However, journalists were not allowed to cover the judgment. Only lawyers in the prosecution and defence teams were allowed in court.
A source, who witnessed the verdict, but craved anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, told reporters that the fourth defendant was acquitted.
The court, on December 3 last year, barred journalists from covering the trial of 17 suspected members of the sect.
Justice Ibrahim Buba made the order following an application by the Lagos State Attorney-General and prosecuting counsel, Mr. Ade Ipaye.

Men of the Department of Security Services (DSS) had prevented journalists from covering the suspects’ arraignment last November 27.

The accused are – Ali Mohammed, Adamu Karumi, Ibrahim Usman, Bala Haruna, Idris Ali, Mohammed Murtala, Kadiri Mohammed, Mustapha Daura, Abba Duguri, Sanni Adamu, Danjuma Yahaya, Musa Audu, Mati Daura, Farouk Haruna, Abdullahi Azeez, Ibrahim Bukar and Zula Diani.
The Attorney-General, it was learnt, had entered a nolle prosequi (Latin for “do not prosecute”) in respect of two of the defendants, who were subsequently discharged.
Later, another 11 were also discharged in the course of the trial following another nolle prosequi by the prosecution.

Only four – the first to fourth defendants – went through a full trial.
The suspects were first charged with conspiracy to commit terrorism, illegal possession of firearms, and being members of a proscribed organisation.

They allegedly committed the offences on March 21 last year, at Plot 5, Road 69, Lekki Phase I Housing Estate, and at No. 24, Oyegbeni St., Ijora-Oloye, Apapa-Iganmu, Lagos.
They were alleged to have in their possession three packets of explosive construction pipes, 15 detonators, and 11 AK47 rifles with 30 rounds of live ammunitions.
