Across the country

 

I arrived yesterday morning in Cluj, I was so tired all day, I barely managed to take these photos. These past few days were chaotic. I went to Bucharest where I stayed for 24 hours, I had to finish some matters with my University and I was running all around the building for 4 hours or so, waiting for signatures, arguing with stupid secretaries..But I am glad it's all taken care off. A few hours later I had to catch the night train and here I am. I haven't really got the chance to talk to anybody I know back there and it kinda hurt to finally leave my apartment and knowing I will never return there anymore.. 

On more material subjects: I have recently received the skirt from a friend who got it from her cousin, neither of them were of a fan of it, but I don't think I'll let it go; it's leather and it's great, I love it! I will be staying here about a week or so..I have some business here, and right now I just want to sit in the amazing beautiful cafes instead of working...but that will pass, hopefully soon and I will be able to enjoy once more this amazing city!

This is a little preview of what I have been working on these days. I managed to finish the photoshotting, but  the photos are not ready yet, so stay tuned for more. All I can say now, is that I am dead tired, I am sunburned from the crazy sun, my eyes are like filled with sand..but at least I have finished sewing. All I have now is to work on my concept and my actual written graduation paper - if that is the proper name -  and this means I will be all weekend living in my laptop. Too bad it can't feel me.

Blue painted rain..

 
Not much of a fancy outfit today. I felt bored and uninspired; sometimes I get this feeling in certain days when fashion does not excite me. The weather was chilly and it seemed it was about to rain so my plan to wear a cute dress was ruined. So I wore something blue, put my new shoes on and a bling-bling around my neck to feel interesting and there I go. Today I couldn't help myself and I bought something way too delicious, I can't wait to show you! (which means - I can't wait to brag). I also indulged myself with three huge bouquets of lilac - my favorite flower, so naturally I wanted to share with you their beauty. So little time until my birthday, I am freaking out!

Chameleonic Connections

Allright people, I present to you the project I have been spending most of my recent time (plus other little ones), losing my nights, the project I have been stressing out like a lunatic. We - my colleagues and I - spent a lot of time along with our teacher doing research on how this collection should be, because you see, it's a big collection consisting of about 30 pieces, and then each piece, is an individual of our own 12 piece collection. So it's something like..thirty-in-one. You see, it's quite hard for thirty minds to think alike and to create one coherent collection.
After long debates, we came to the conclusion that the people of this planet find themselves confused in this era of continuously changing technology, the time is shrinking rapidly and the need of socialization is satisfied nowadays in the virtual world. We come up with the idea of adaptation, that we have to adapt to this fast-moving world, in different ways, we have to be open minded mostly and capable of change. And the symbol for all of this is the CHAMELEON- the creature who has the power to adapt to the environment, change color and camouflage. (If I haven't seen pictures with chameleons this past month, tell me I am not crazy)

What you see here is my own theme, called Chameleonic Connections, you'll understand hopefully soon, and it's part of the BIG collection called METAMOTION.
Here are my sketches of 12 pieces. I, actually we all chose, the first sketch form the first photo for me to bring it to life.

You see, what I did, I created a self-colored dress. I had a device made with wires hidden underneath the dress, a device commanded by me so it can color my dress in those colors which we choose all together. The idea of my project is to be able to adapt in society, both virtually and physically; so...quite chamelon-like, no?

Personally I am quite pleased of the result, both of my project and the exhibition, but I am looking forward for your opinions!

Winter Petals

Sorry for the absence, but I found myself with a full weekend, a bad mood and only yesterday I managed to snap these with my look of that day. The weather was sooo lovely I couldn't believe it, very Spring-ish in contrast with the Christmas lights and ornaments that are all over the city. Oh I can't wait for Christmas! I have already told you that, and I will keep counting the days until I will get to decorate my tree and receive Santa.

Graphics for December

This doesn't mean I will ever graphics all winter, although that might seem like a nice challenge, but for that I will need to buy a lot of stuff. Trust me, I adore prints of all kind, so maybe I will find something in thrift stores, keep your fingers crossed!
I looked at this dress and I realized the poor thing was only worn ...three times this summer, so it's exposed time is quite short, but I decided to take her out of it's hibernation and color this gloomy transitional season a bit.
What are your plans this weekend? I hope I won't procrastinate too much..I have this bad habit.
