Sequins

Did any of you notice that I just kind of stopped the 30 day challenge? Is that awful of me? I feel kind of bad, but let's be honest -- you know how quickly I get sick of things, my clothes especially. And while I did really well and didn't spend any money, it got hard to wear the same pieces. But hey, I did 20 days, so that's pretty good, right?? [I'm a quitter. Another one of my flaws....]

But I really love this outfit and I was so excited to share it with you! I love pink and I love sequins, so this is a definite favorite.

Day 8: Repeat

This shirt has been on repeat over here lately, but I swear it's one of the most versatile shirts I own. I feel like I could pair it with almost anything and it would look great! I keep picturing it with a cobalt blue skirt though, so if any of you know where I can find one, please let me know! Another thing that's been on repeat lately is this Wild Butterfly Boutique Infinity necklace! I have't taken it off since I've gotten it. I'm obsessed!

Well anyway, the kids start school today and I'm kind of over the moon about it. I will just have the 2 year old, and it's a whole lot easier to do things with just 1 kid than with 3, so I probably won't be at home much anymore. I love driving around and running errands, but it gets tough when you have to drag 3 kids with you. Even simple tasks like running to the post office or filling up at the gas station become difficult with multiple children, so props to you moms who do it every day! Anyone who's ever questioned if being a stay at home mom is a full time job, IT IS. H always tells me that my job is the most important [even though they aren't our kids] and that it's the hardest job there is, and I really appreciate that he acknowledges that. Being a nanny is definitely the hardest job I've ever had, but I'm grateful for it because of everything it's teaching me for when I have kids of my own. And because the kids are the cutest EVER.

On a side note, I'm going to be taking an online class this semester! I haven't been in school for about 2 years now, but I'm super excited to get back into the swing of things. I tend to get overwhelmed easily, so I thought just 1 class would help ease me back in, but it's still something, and I'm still really excited!

Day 5: Avenue Lou GIVEAWAY

Have you ever had one of those days when you come home after what seems like the longest day and all you want is to curl up into a ball and cry? Well, I had one of those the other day. Things have been really stressful over here. I try not to voice these things to other people, because I tend to get really uncomfortable when talking about personal things. But my mind has been going crazy lately, thinking about jobs, and money, and school, and marriage, and blogging, and life in general. And then on top of all that, I had the craziest, longest day at work, and I was just done. I felt so overwhelmed with life and all I wanted to do was get home, take my clothes off, lay on the bed and cry. And that's exactly what I did.

I know I've said this before, but for those of you who don't know my husband, he is literally the sweetest man I have ever known. He puts my needs and wants before his own 100% of the time. And that sweet man of mine, well he just held me while I cried. He spooned me and he smooched me and he let me know, over and over again, how much he loved me. He helped me make dinner, and then he cuddled me while we watched TV. And it was the most wonderful, perfect, peaceful night. I know I've talked a lot about marriage and how hard it can be, but lately I feel like it's just been so... easy. I'm not saying everything is perfect--obviously we have our moments of frustration and contention, but that's all they are. Moments. I feel like we've both learned what makes the other happy and what makes the other laugh, and we both try to focus on those things, because they're the important ones.

The best marriage advice we've ever gotten was this: Always show appreciation for what the other does for you. Voice that appreciation constantly. Make that your focus. If you don't, you will start having expectations, and eventually you will start having demands.

H and I have made this an every day effort and constantly try to voice our appreciation for one another, and it has made all the difference. Because when I'm telling him how grateful I am that he takes my pictures every morning, or always opens the car doors for me, or goes with me everywhere because I'm such a scaredy cat, suddenly I don't even care that he was playing Xbox instead of doing the dishes. ;] When you focus on the things you love about your spouse, it just makes everything so much easier. And I'm a huge fan of that.

Day One + A Dash of Gold

Well, today is Day 1 of my 30x30 Challenge and I'm so excited! This weekend, H and I went through and reorganized our whole closet, I got rid of even more clothes, and I picked out my 30 pieces for the challenge. The Statement Necklace: Adding a necklace to another wise simple outfit to jazz it up? I can totally handle that!

The Jean Vest:  By far my favorite trend because since its farrrrr too hot to wear my jean jacket but a vest? I can totally rock that. Summer trend WIN!
