Vintage Saturdays

vi9 7

While everybody around me on the streets was wearing jeans, light boots, grey/black/brown jackets and scarves in the same colors, I was like a snowdrop flower emerged from a long boring and hard winter. To me, it was a great weather to still wear dress shoes and colorful skirts even though a cold wind was blowing here and there, but one could feel the warm sun and the fresh air of Fall.
I tend to enjoy this season as much as I can, by even wearing pretty clothes and drinking hot delicious coffees in elegant interiors. That's how my Saturday was like.
Don't deny the fact that every woman desires to feel like an aristocrat and you can make time to feel like a noble lady if you find the right places. I guess I was influenced by Kate Morton's "The house at Riverton" and wanted to recreate the book's mood a bit.
Have you read it?

Sometimes wearing the basic outfits when you have no idea what to wear anymore, is the best option. And if you include some cool accessories that stand out, even better! Speaking of which, I had some vintage clip earrings with me and by the time I got to make these photos I took them off because they were killing my ears. Midway through the photoshooting I realised I left my earrings in my bag and I did not had the time to remake all the photos I made up until that point. And I was so disappointed because the earrings were so pretty...

Next time I will try to be more careful. I was even about to loose my sunglasses and the sweater I had with me that day too.

The weather is shockingly beautiful this week and I can't wait to go outside and enjoy Autumn!
So, have a lovely weekends guys!

He loves me, he loves me not

I love taking photos in gardens among flowers or nature, so the minute I layed my eyes on this dress, I already made up a scenario in my head and I thought the botanical garden is a great place to go. It's not the garden of Versailles and I wished there were more flowers in bloom, but it was good enough.
I am hunter of big prints as you know, specialized in floral ones, so the moment I say those cute daisies on this dress, it was instant love! I like the transparency and the fact that it is daring and delicate at the same time. In a word: feminine!
Oh and yes, the retro '50s silhouette is the cherry on top, as the word goes.

Casual dress up

You know what's the best part of taking photos on an almost rainy Sunday afternoon downtown? The fact that there aren't too many people around to bother you! You know those moments when you decide to take photos in open places and afterwards you find a weirdo waving hands in the background of your picture or something similar. But not this time!
I decided to take out one of my very silky maxi dresses I was so eager to wear, and because it was a bit chilly I paired with my denim jacket for a more casual look. I could've gone with a cute little blazer too, but I felt the accessories were enough to cover that "elegant" part of the outfit.
And elegant as we were, we went at our favorite restaurant and ate huge portions of food plus dessert! You can imagine the way we complained about how huge we felt with our stomach over full!

Precious things

I just got back from a antique market (which is held here in Cluj once a month) where I found that porcelain box and two pairs of vintage earrings. I always get so excited when I learn about this type of fairs, mostly because you can find unique stuff and also that have a history. Really, I wanted to go home with one hundred things from there, but considering my budget, that would've ment to remain broke and also sell some of my body parts. Seriously, I don't think some of the stuff there are really authentic anyway, but the merchants still sell them on sky-high prices.

This necklace is from Stradivarius and so are the black and white earrings from above (hello sales!)

The sandals are from MiniPrix and I haven't even got a chance to wear them, thanks to the pouring rain from the past few days.

And I am sure most of you already know about Nina by Nina Ricci, one of my favorite perfumes. I wish my skin would already have that scent!

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend guys!

Cooler than the red dress

she7 4

Remember this song
That is the first song that came into my mind when I saw these photos, haha - narcissistic much?

I had this beautiful dress from Sheinside for a while now and I couldn't wait to wear it at this wedding I had to go the other day. I especially loved the back, that was the first thing that caught my attention, then there is the color (it also comes in black). What I was anxious about, was the length, I am not necessarilly a fan of ankle length dresses, I think they look kind of funny, and even though I measured myself, I thought, "oh well, maybe it will still look good".
This is how I wore it for the wedding reception, with a massive statement necklace, red lips - of course - and a hairdo that gave me some head aches while making it myself.

I look like a lady now but picture this: standing in that dress in front of McDonald's waiting for my ride, eating french fries with ten pigeons around me - even I laughed at the situation. Classy right? At least they ate from my hand, which was cute enough.

Sophisticated thoughts

_127 3

I am not one that looks elegant and proud even when a wonderful day turns into a crappy one. Although I try to be, I think it works better in my head than in reality. In any case, that image of a strong, sophisticated woman with an expression that says "I'm too good for you people and yet I accept you in my world" has always been haunting me. Perhaps I've seen too many old movies or have a huge collection of old Hollywood's glamorous actresses that have the exact same attitude I mentioned. Even so, I like to pay special attention to my outfits and dress up fancy, not just for the sake of special occasions. There are also days in which I don't give a single thought and just dress up in 5 minutes and that's about it.
Speaking of the lack of spohistication, I am about to go thrifting and hopefully I will find some treasures. If not, I will be sad for the rest of day.
Oh come on, I am not that superficial.
