Midas touch

King Midas is the main hero of many legends, anecdotes and myths. One of them tells a story of Dionysus rewarding the king for helping Sylen and granting him an ability to change everything he touched into gold. Midas quickly realised that he was about to die from hunger as bread and wine had turned into gold as well. He started begging Dionysus to be delivered from starvation. The God agreed and told Midas to wash his head and hands in the river Pactolus (now gold-bearing).

The gold skirt plays the major role in today's show. The airy white dress in an interesting style matches the skirt well but it only is a replenishment. The Yves Saint Laurent clutch of neutral body-colour and uncovered high heel shoes with metal elements are nice addenda. I am really keen on such simple and womanlike summer outfits. How do you like it?

Outfit post - Retro-ish

Good rainy Wednesday!
It's a good Wednesday since I got a confirmation that my art work
has been safely delivered to the gallery in NYC where I'll have an
exhibition with another 3 artists starting 16th of August.
I'm already counting the days until I get to leave for NYC for the 1st time
in my life. I have marked down so many places which I want to visit and
I can't wait to document my trip by tons of photos and maybe even some
short videos? What do you guys think about that?

Hope that you're all doing well wherever you are and I would like to thank
to all of you on all the beautiful comments that you left on my posts, I
appreciate them very much!

I'm wearing: Ballerinas - Vagabond, Bag - Rebecca Minkoff, Jeans - Diesel,
Headband - Zara, Shirt & scarf - Mango, Sunnies - Marc By Marc Jacobs,
Ring & bracelet - COS

THE MAKINGS OF A WILD WARDROBE

Posted by Bethan Holt, Junior Fashion Editor at Large

I thought this post was going to be about all the best things which I've seen at the July press days over the past few weeks. The 'Christmas in July' press day is now a well-established fixture on the press calendar where we go and see what will be in the stores during the festive period as well as having to confront cashmere socks and mince pies while the world boils away in a heatwave outside. In some cases, we also get to see designers' Resort collections which is effectively the first taste of next Summer. A sense of perspective is essential.

Anyway, I have noticed that all the things I most loved could come together to create quite a look. Something like a combination of Little Edie, Diana Vreeland and Louis Vuitton AW13.

It involves, first of all, a fabulously jewelled turban. I spied this one at River Island...

Then comes a matching set of something wildly printed.

For warmer times, this faded leopard print trouser suit by Raquel Allegra is perfect.

For every day Autumnal, it's ASOS's check and leopard skirt suit

For party times, Miss Selfridges' ornate cocktail co-ord..

Or at Liberty, Oliva von Halle's new silky PJ sets were the ultimate for wafting glamorously about the place.

Match any one of these outfits with a funny animal stole courtesy of ASOS (that face!) which undoubtedly references Marc Jacobs' AW13 show....

And the cherry on the wild wardrobe cake, Joanne Stoker pom-pom heels from Atelier-to-Go.

The perfect outfit for Christmas?

Wearing my leather overalls once again, and it's just that I cannot have enough of them! They are just so comfty and versatile and I am definitely planning to continue wearing them in fall/winter. Just imagine them paired with a masculine coat and femenine pumps and how sleek that would look. This time I decided to make them look adecuate for summer and casual with a crop top and my beloved furry plimsolls. I've learned a few days ago that if you are wearing cropped pants, the best way to style them is with flats, and it's true, it's what makes the legs look longer, something a strappy high shoe won't do in this case.

DE
