Essie Giveaway + Funday Monday Co-Host

Happy Monday everyone! I hope that you all had a fabulous weekend! H and I ran errands on Saturday morning, bought a lot of healthy food to kick start our diet that starts today [I MEAN IT THIS TIME], and then spent the evening relaxing and watching a few of our favorite shows. We also made some incredibly delicious salsa. I love weekends with my cute husband, because we get to spend the whole day together and that's just the best.

Now I know that I just started an amazing giveaway on Friday, but because I love all of my readers so much, I have another one for you today! [Both will run until Monday of next week, so don't forget to enter.]

Remember Friday's post when I said I was going to get Krispy Kreme donuts before my diet started? Well I did. And apparently it was National Donut Day. Score! So I definitely ate one. Or five. Let's not talk about it.
MY DIET STARTS TODAY.

Anyway, do you guys remember this dress? I bought it in December for our family Christmas party last year, and it's definitely my favorite dress. But I haven't worn it since then, so I decided that it was time to break it out again! [And yes, I miss my long hair! Though, I was wearing extensions here.]

Also, can we talk about how cute this clutch is? It is the perfect accessory to any outfit. You can wear it with  a dressy outfit, or something more casual, and it always looks fab. You will definitely be seeing this clutch a lot! Obsessed

Dress: Banana Republic [old] // Belt & Sunnies: Forever 21 // Shoes: Kohl's [similar] // Clutch: HelloFab c/o

Do any of you have tips for sticking to a diet?? I'm so awful at it!

Also, don't miss J. Crew's sale today! I am such a J. Crew lover, but I have only ever gotten a few things from there because it's so expensive! But I am going to splurge while they have their sale today! [30% off sale items at J. Crew, and 40% off everything at J. Crew factory.] Some of the items I am obsessing over:

I know I say this every Friday, but TGIF! So excited for the weekend! Do any of you have any fun weekend plans? I'm excited to just relax and spend all day cuddling with my hot husband! :]

Lately I've been really been in a slump. I haven't been eating healthy or working out at all, so this morning I decided that I was going to get back on track. The whole drive to work, all I could think about was how bad I wanted to stop at QT and get a soda. [But I didn't.] And then while talking to my boss, he mentioned Krispy Kreme [my all time favorite] and I decided that I'm going to start my diet on Monday. Because I really want some Krispy Kreme's. And while I'm at it, I may just get a nice, refreshing Coke too! ;] [I HAVE NO WILL POWER.]

Top and Sunnies: Forever 21 [old] // Blazer: Thrifted // Pants: Marshalls // Bag: TJ Maxx // Shoes: Charlotte Russe [similar] // Earrings: Loren Hope

H says that these pants make me look like I'm a referee or like I'm in the circus. What do you guys think??

Don't forget to check out my Friday feature over on Jessica Jean!

Okay, someone please tell me why I have such expensive taste? It will definitely be the death of me. Or at least mine and H's bank accounts. ;] But like I said before, H and I are on a strict budget, because we have some really exciting plans for this coming year.  [I really hate when people are so vague like this, but hey. I don't want to jinx these amazing plans.] So I probably will not be getting any of these items any time soon. Sigh.

Anyways, I told you yesterday that I was going to be posting about my latest diet/workout plan. [Though, today I feel like maybe I shouldn't because on Monday I didn't even work out, and yesterday I ate like a pig. But that is beside the point, right? Right.]

Quite a few people have asked me why I am even dieting/working out. And I just want to start off by saying that I am not trying to get "skinny." I do not think I am overweight, I just know that lately I haven't been eating healthy. I have been eating too much junk food and not working out enough, resulting in me feeling sick almost every day, and not being happy about my body. So I am dieting because I want to be healthy, and I am working out to tone up my body. [Hello--swim suit season?] But most of all, I want to feel great about myself. I want to know that I am staying in shape and that I am providing my body with the nutrients it needs to function properly.

The workout plan that I have been doing for the past week and a half is Jillian Michaels Body Revolution.

It is a 3 month plan, and I like that it is spread out over a longer period of time because you really get a chance to work your muscles up to the ending result. Each day you are doing a 30 minute workout, alternating the muscles you are working, therefore giving them some time to rest and repair before working them again. And you do a cardio workout every 3rd day. Check it out HERE. At the beginning, H was making fun of Jillian's workouts and opted to go running instead, but I made him try it with me and then he realized how hard it really is! Honestly, Jillian is kicking our butts! But we love it! I highly recommend this plan!

As far as my diet plan, I haven't been doing anything too crazy, but I have been eating healthier. I have been staying away from fast food, soda [totally struggling with this one], candy, and anything with an excessive amount of sugar. I have been eating a lot of fruits and vegetables, meat, eggs, etc. I don't really like limiting anything else, i.e. limiting calories or carbs, because then I feel like I never really get to eat food that I enjoy. But with just eliminating most of the sugary foods/drinks out of my diet, I have already felt an improvement. I always feel so much healthier and happier when I am eating foods that are good for my body. I broke my diet at the fair on Saturday and ate a funnel cake [check out my insta for pics] and while it was great for the first few bites, afterwards I just felt so sick to my stomach. It was my first really sugary and greasy food I had eaten that week, and my body totally rejected it.

So anyway, I promise that I will get back on track with my diet/exercise plan! But I think it's important to remember not to be too hard on ourselves. If you miss a day, it's okay. Just get back on it as soon as you can. It's all about making progress, and as long as you keep trying, you will see results and you will be happier!

I would love to hear any of your diet/work-out tips that you have!

[And if I haven't said this enough lately, PLEASE vote for me in Style Mint's Style for Your City contest! Today is the last day to vote! Vote HERE. :]
