Day Nine // Hearts

Day Nine of the Blog Every Day in May challenge is: A moment in your day.

I'm choosing this very moment. The moment that I am writing out my blog post for the day, and choosing which pictures I want to use. These 30 minutes are probably the scariest of my day--trying to pick the best pictures, trying to figure out what to write, etc.

Fashion blogging is hard. And it's scary. There are days when I look back on previous blog posts and wonder why I posted a certain picture. There are days when there are only a couple good pictures out of the hundred or so we took. There are days when I sit on the floor of my closet, on the verge of tears, because I don't know what to wear for a certain post. And there are so many people who judge you, and say [or think] that you're silly for starting a fashion blog. You have to be so incredibly vulnerable. You have to be confident. It's scary posting pictures of yourself, because maybe everyone will hate your outfit? Maybe people will send mean comments? But I try not to care about all of that, because this is something that I truly love. The outfits that I wear are who I am. If you don't like it, don't wear it! In my brief college experience, I switched my major about 4 different times. And even after I quit going to school, when I would think about what I really wanted to do, there was nothing that interested me for an extended period of time. But fashion blogging is something that I absolutely love. It's something that interests me, pushes my limits, and something that I see myself doing for a long time. [So if any of you don't like my fashion blogging, feel free to leave! And why are you reading this blog in the first place?] I heard someone say once, "Everyone likes their coffee different." So there a probably going to be a whole lot of people who don't like my blog or my style. And I am totally fine with that.

Fashion is something that I think is so exciting. When you get dressed in the morning, you aren't just putting on clothes. You are sending a message to everyone else-- This is who I am, and this is how I feel today. I am definitely a "mood" dresser. Packing for trips is the hardest thing for me to do. H will always say "just pack what you're going to wear!" Uhmm. Okay, well I don't ever know what I'm going to wear until the morning of! Because I don't know how I'm going to feel that day. Some days I want to be super girly, some days I want to wear heels, some days I want to wear a t-shirt and jeans, etc. So I don't ever plan my outfits days or weeks in advance. When I post an outfit of the day, it's usually what I'm wearing and how I'm feeling on that specific day. [Except for this week's posts. We took these over the weekend because we had some extra time.] But anyway, back to my original point-- Figuring out your personal style is something that is so important. I'd say that my style is generally very girly and chic. I like to dress classy, but not too classy. I like to incorporate a little bit of fun into my outfits. I don't want to fit a mold. I don't want to dress like any other person or fashion blogger I know. And neither should you. Because when you finally figure out who YOU are and what YOU love, that is when your style will shine through to others. It's definitely not a bad thing to get inspiration from a blog or from Pinterest, but make it your own, you know?

ANYWAY. Enough with my rant, and onto my outfit of the day:

Sweater: Old Navy [sold out]; Skirt: Forever 21; Shoes: Charlotte Russe, similar; Bag: Marshalls; Earrings: Loren Hope; Sunnies: HelloFab

It's Thursday! The week is almost over!
