The year's visit to the Venice Biennale brought back appreciation for the incredible gardens and architecture. Upon arrival, an adorable Ciao scooter greets you at the Swiss pavilion, by artist Valentin Carron.
Above the Nordic pavilion, always takes my heart and over powers the art. It was designed by Pritzker Prize laureate Sverre Fehn.
Above the Russian pavilion hosted artist Vadim Zakharov who designed a work that allowed gold coins to drop, on women only, from the legend of Danae who was impregnated by a shower of gold. Below at the Spanish pavilion Lara Almarcegui's work reminiscent of Walter de Maria (who shows up later).
At the Arsenale was an exhibition based on the idea of encyclopedia and curated by Massimiliano Gioni. The artists were those obsessed with ideas and exploration. Here are my favorites, especially bird photographer Eliot Porter.
